Man's 'joke' leads to three arrests

A McAdoo man's idea of a sick joke resulted in the arrests of three people.

McAdoo Police were contacted by a North Carolina 911 center in the early morning hours of Feb. 25. The center had received a call from a local woman who received disturbing photos on her cellphone, sent by her ex-husband, Victor Craig, 37, who resided in McAdoo. The pictures were of a naked woman who appeared to be deceased.

Officers attempted to contact Craig and went to his home. Unable to speak with Craig, the officers entered the home, where they found two women, including the woman in the photo. Both were alive. A records check found outstanding warrants for both of their arrests.

During the course of the investigation, officers discovered the photos sent to the North Carolina woman had been taken while the subject was unconscious. It was also determined that Craig had indecent contact with her while she was unconscious.

Craig has been charged with indecent assault.
