The engagement of Corey Marie Phillipeck of Summit Hill to James F. Gurka, also of Summit Hill, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Phillipeck of West Penn Township. She is a 2005 graduate of Marian Catholic High School. She graduated in 2009 with a bachelor of arts in communications/public relations from Immaculata University.
She is employed by Optum Health, United Healthcare.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Joseph and Maureen Gurka of Summit Hill. He is a 2004 graduate of Panther Valley High School and a 2008 graduate of Bloomsburg University where he earned a bachelor of science and dual certification in elementary and special education.
He is employed as an emotional support teacher at Lehighton Area High School.
A wedding is planned for July 18.
