Attempted ID theft

A Carbon County man reported he was almost the victim of an identity theft incident.

State police at Lehighton said a 56-year-old male from Lower Towamensing Township, reported someone attempted to claim his tax return fraudulently. The incident was reported at 11 a.m. on Monday.

Troopers said the case is still under investigation.
