Heavy damages in Schuylkill crash
Both vehicles involved in a crash in Schuylkill County on Friday sustained heavy damages. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred at 7:25 a.m. at the intersection of High Ridge Park Road and Keystone Boulevard in Cass Township.
Troopers said Kevin M. Schuler, 26, of Pottsville, driving a 2003 Saturn L200, was attempting to negotiate a left turn from High Ridge onto Keystone in foggy conditions. Schuler failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was subsequently struck on the passenger side rear by the front of a 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cynthia M. Carado, 40, of Ringtown, who was westbound on High Ridge.
After initial impact the Saturn spun clockwise and rotated 90 degrees and came to rest on a concrete lane divider facing north. The Cherokee proceeded about 30 feet west and came to rest partially on the concrete divider facing southwest.
Schuler sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene, troopers said. Carado was not injured.
Troopers cited Schuler for the crash.
