Vehicle catches fire on I-81

A Northumberland County driver escaped injury after her vehicle caught fire along Interstate 81 in Foster Township, Schuylkill County on Tuesday at 2:10 p.m.

State police at Frackville said Jennifer L. Honicker, 37, of Locust Gap, was driving a 2008 Subaru Legacy northbound when the engine caught fire. She managed to pull onto the berm and exit the vehicle. The fire was extinguished by the responding police officer.

The vehicle had to be towed.
