VFW Auxiliary
The annual picnic of the VFW Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. President Cheri Santore will host the picnic at her home on West Diaz Avenue.
All those members planning to attend should contact Maureen at 669-9578 so proper planning can be made. If you are planning to attend, bring a side dish.
Nesquehoning Woman's Club
The members and guests of the Nesquehoning Woman's Club will open their season with a dinner on Sept. 13, starting at 6 p.m., at the Parkview Inn in Summit Hill. Please call Jane Pietruch with your reservation at 570-645-7846, before Sept. 1.
Price includes dinner, tax, and tip. Choice of entrée includes broiled haddock, chicken cordon bleu, crab cakes, or New York Strip Steak.

Golden Agers
The Panther Valley Golden Agers meet every second and fourth Monday of the month. The next meeting will be Aug. 10 at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall beginning at 1 p.m. Bingo is scheduled to be played. May, June, July and August birthdays will be recognized Aug. 24.
