FARMERS MARKET HOSTING FARM-TO-FORk DINNER

Monroe Farmers Market, in connection with the Shawnee Inn, will host its Farm-to-Fork Harvest Dinner on Sept. 13.

Guests will dine on the Grand Lawn of the Shawnee Inn with an opening reception on the veranda. The culinary team is preparing a diverse menu to showcase a variety of locally sourced foods. ShawneeCraft beer will be on tap to accompany the fare. A decadent assortment of desserts will be served, prepared from seasonal fruits, local honey and more.

Live music will be presented by Water Street. During the course of the event, guests will be taken out to the Shawnee Island farm by golf cart to see where Shawnee Inn grows vegetables for its restaurants and pumpkins for its brewery.

Proceeds will benefit Monroe Farmers Market programs. The market, which is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon, plans several food-themed events and outreach efforts yearly at its location in Courthouse Square.
