Man cited for driving over fire hose
A Silverbrook man has been cited by McAdoo police for his actions at a fire scene in the borough on Nov. 25.
As firefighters were emptying hoses and putting away equipment after fighting a blaze at 208-210 W. Sherman St., Robert Burke was driving a black Toyota south on Hancock Street. The fire hose was stretched across the intersection of West Sherman and Hancock streets and a McAdoo police cruiser was positioned at an angle in the middle of the intersection. Burke drove around the cruiser and over the hose.
When stopped by police he indicated he didn't know it was illegal to drive over a fire hose. He didn't think the cruiser parked in the street was enough to indicate that the road was closed.
He was cited for driving over the hose.
