Roving DUI patrol results released
The North Central Pennsylvania Regional DUI Enforcement Program has released the results of a roving DUI patrol held Nov. 25 in Schuylkill County.
Seven officers from seven law enforcement departments contacted and detained a total of 62 vehicles, with two drivers testing for possible DUI. There were no drunken driving arrests.
Officers also made 21 traffic-related arrests, wrote one citation for a seat belt violation, made five criminal arrests and issued 42 warnings.
DUI enforcement efforts will continue to be conducted through Dec. 8 on routes 61, 183, 901, 209, 1006, 309, 443, 895, 125, 25, 924 and 54.
The checkpoints and patrols are funded through the state Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Motorists are reminded to dial 911 if they suspect a drunken driver.
