There's lots happening at the Mauch Chunk Opera House this month, beginning Friday.
The opera house is located at 14 W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe. For more information on any show, visit www.mcohjt.com or call 570-325-0249. Tickets are available for most shows at the door at showtime. Doors open for all shows at 7 p.m. Show time is 8 p.m.
• Dec. 4 and 5: Twelve Twenty Four Holiday Show brings its high energy, full-scale holiday rock orchestra concert back to the Northeast this year. Featuring the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, along with selections from their own debut album, for a one-of-a-kind holiday experience.
• Dec. 11: If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a phenomenal tribute to genius.
• Dec. 12: The Craig Thatcher Band and friends take your favorite traditional Christmas songs and rock them out. Joining Thatcher will be a lineup of talented musicians elevating this popular show to a very entertaining night of rockin' holiday music.
• Dec. 17: 40 Story Radio Tower - Christmas Special. A special holiday edition of 40 Story Radio Tower hits the stage for an evening of original work put before a live audience and recorded live for download on iTunes.
• Dec 18: Splintered Sunlight's Grateful Dead Holiday. From its authentic two-drumset lineup, to Butchy Sochorow's soaring lead guitar and naturally Dead-on Jerry-like voice, to Dan Leyden's rhythms and Bob Weir vocals, Splintered can do it all in a big way.
• Dec. 19: Peek-a-Boo Revue Holiday Extravaganza features Philadelphia's Premier Neo-Burlesque Troupe.
• Dec. 26: BStreet Band with Original EStreeter, Vini "MadDog" Lopez. Led by vocalist Glenn Stuart, this Bruce Springsteen tribute band brings a package of high energy, versatility, and a few unscripted laughs.
• Dec. 31: New Year's Eve Party 2016. Dance all night to DJ personality Doctor John spinning all the greatest hits of the '70s, '80s and '90s. It's a retro dance party that will take you back while moving you into 2016. Tickets $18, Doors 7 p.m. Show 8 p.m.
