State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roads.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday along Route 924 (Center Street) in East Union Township. Troopers said Daniel L. Kimmel, 20, of Frackville, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer northbound when the vehicle left the road on the left side and struck several trees in the front yard at 983 Center St. It then continued north onto property at 987 Center St., striking bushes. It then struck a large tree, where it came to rest.

Kimmel, who troopers said sustained serious injuries, had to be extricated from the wreckage and then flown by medical helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. on Nov. 19 along Route 901 in Cass Township.

Troopers said Steven E. Yohe, 46, of Minersville, was driving a 2002 Jeep Wrangler westbound and rounding a left curve when he lost control. The Jeep entered the eastbound lane. Traceyann K. Denion, 46, of Pottsville, driving a 2006 Ford Freestyle, was eastbound and attempted to avoid a collision but could not and the vehicles collided.

Upon impact Yohe, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his vehicle. He was taken to the Geisinger Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of a head injury. Denion sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene.
