Woman charged with making false report

A Schuylkill County woman is facing a charge of false reports after she had reported she was raped.

State police at Frackville said Vannessa Crawley, 23, of Girardville, reported on Sunday around 11 a.m. that she had been raped. After the completion of a written statement and a medical examination at the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, she later revealed that she made the allegation up because she was mad at her ex-boyfriend and his two associates.

Troopers said a charge of unsworn falsification to authorities is pending.
