Teenage girl cited for retail theft
Tamaqua police have cited a 15-year-old girl for shoplifting.
Officers were called to the Family Dollar Store, 125 Center St., at 9:41 a.m. on Dec. 8, after the teen tried to "return" several items she said she purchased a few weeks earlier. She didn't have a receipt. When the items were scanned through a security program, an alert indicated the items had not been purchased.
The items included a micro cable, juju fish and a selfie stick, for a combined total of $11.
The teen was cited for retail theft and released to her mother.
