Two escape injury in crash

Two people escaped injury in a Dec. 14 crash in Polk Township.

The crash happened at 2:38 p.m. on Route 209 near Hill Drive when Joshua Lisboa, 21, of Palmerton was driving south and Christine Desterno, 71, of Kunkletown, suddenly made a left turn from Route 209 north in an attempt to enter Orlando's Body Shop, according to a news release from state police at Lehighton.

Desterno had made a left turn into an area where the shop cannot be accessed.

Lisboa swerved to avoid striking Desterno's car, but hit the rear of the car.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
