Frackville man facing charges

Jovanny A. Serrano, 24, of Frackville, is facing multiple charges as a result of a hit-and-run incident at 5 a.m. Sunday on the Morea Road in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he was driving a 1998 Lincoln Town Car west when it traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway and hit a ditch, an unused utility pole and several trees. Police said the operator did not stop the vehicle where the impact occurred and continued to travel westbound on the road. The car eventually became disabled in front of 205 Morea Road, at which time Serrano abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

Police said the investigation revealed Serrano did not have a valid driver's license. He also received six summary citations for multiple traffic offenses.
