Nesquehoning man charged with DUI
Arthur W. Osborn, 57, of 20 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, has been arrested by Jim Thorpe police for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving while his operating privilege is suspended or revoked.
Police said the arrest stems from an incident dating back to May 13 when police were dispatched to investigate a person driving in an erratic manner on Route 903.
Police said they were advised the vehicle was a GMC pickup that was traveling at very inconsistent speeds, in addition to crossing the center and fog lines and swerving throughout the lane.
Police stopped the vehicle in the 400 block of North Street and identified the driver as Osborn. He displayed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
Police said Osborn agreed to a blood test, the results of which showed he was under the influence of a combination of prescribed medications.
