Coaldale
Ash Wednesday service
The beginning of Lent will be observed at a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church in Coaldale. The public is invited to attend this special service.
Morning worship will be held at 9 Sunday, followed by Sunday school at 10.
The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Morning worship and Sunday school will be conducted at 9 and 10 a.m., respectively, on Feb. 22.

Lenten devotions
Lenten devotions will take place at The Shrine of St. Therese Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located at Angelini and Garibaldi avenues at 6 p.m. every Wednesday during Lent, beginning Feb. 25 and ending April 1.
Devotion includes Stations of the Cross, Novena Prayers to St. Therese of Lisieux, and Benediction.

Blood drive
The Miller-Keystone Center will conduct a blood drive in memory of Mervin Miller at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 124 E. Abbott St., Lansford on Monday from 1-6 p.m.

Tax preparation help for seniors
The Panther Valley Public Library will offer assistance to seniors age 60 and older in preparing income tax 1040A and 1040 EZ forms and PA state tax returns.
This service will be offered at the library, 117 E Bertsch St., Lansford on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Appointments are required for these services. Call the library at 570-645-3780 to schedule an appointment or for more information.
