Kayla Stanek, daughter of Frank and Michelle Stanek of Summit Hill, graduated summa cum laude from Kutztown University on Dec. 13 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education, pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.

Her overall GPA was a 4.0.

While at Kutztown, Kayla was a member of the Association of Campus Events and the Kutztown University Dance Team.

She was also a member of an educational honor society, Kappa Delta Pi and Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, which recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding campus leadership, scholastic ability and community service.

Kayla is also a 2010 graduate of Marian Catholic High School and a 2012 graduate of the Disney College Program.
