Wednesday evening service at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, 7 p.m., Holden Evening Prayer Service with Holy Communion.

For those who wish to come early, a free, simple supper will be served at 6 p.m. and a brief Bible study is held at 6:30 p.m.

Wills for Heroes

Carbon County will be having its first Wills for Heroes event from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hilltop Community Center, 114 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill.

Wills for Heroes program provides simple wills, a living will, and financial powers of attorney for first responders such as police, firefighters, paramedics, and correctional officers, military veterans, and their spouses/partners.

Preregistration is required and can be completed online at http://www.pabar.org/wfh using the password WFH.

The deadline to register is Thursday.
