Program, EKGs offered by BMHS
Blue Mountain Health System will recognize American Heart Month with free EKGs and a program titled "Understanding Heart Disease and Associated Medications" at 11 a.m. Thursday at BMHS Tamaqua Cardiac Care Center at 17 W. Broad St., Second Floor, Suite 3 in Tamaqua.
Heart disease can have serious consequences, like heart attack, chest pain, stroke and other serious conditions and can result in permanent disability or even death.
Lifestyle changes might not help enough, and your doctor may prescribe medications to control your heart disease. Some may simply help control a symptom or decrease discomfort, while other ones will lower the likelihood that a person with coronary artery disease will die from their disease.
Todd Banning, DO, will talk about the many forms of heart disease and the types of drugs used to treat it.
Participants will have the opportunity to schedule an EKG, at no cost, at either the Tamaqua or Lehighton Cardiac Care Center.
Register at 610-377-7070.
