March concerts at Tamaqua Art Center

Published February 26. 2015 04:00PM

The Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua, has several concerts lined up during the month of March.

Chad Reinert, a recording artist, hails from Nashville. His current single, "As Country As It Gets," is sitting at number 17 on the IndieWorld country music chart. Reinert's concert will be held at 7 p.m. March 7. He promises it will be a "family friendly event."

An evening of Irish song and dance will be presented March 15, featuring The Troubles, an Irish American band, and the McCormick School of Dance from New Philadelphia. The Troubles hails from Ashland and is inspired by band members' Irish roots. The name comes from the famous conflicts in Northern Ireland during the 1960s through 1980s. In addition to traditional Irish pub music, the band blends blues, folk, bluegrass, vintage rock and its own original music.

The evening begins with the Irish dancers at 7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The Big and Bad Rockabilly Cats will perform at 7 p.m. March 21, playing vintage rock and roll. Any audience member wearing a 1950s outfit will get $2 off the price of admission.
