Beware the dangers of transcendental meditation

Published January 10. 2015 09:00AM

To the Editor,

On Dec. 30, NBC "Naughty" News had a story about a public school in California that is teaching young children transcendental meditation.

This proves that the "separation of church and state" only applies to Christianity. Has the ACLU ever filed a lawsuit against public schools that teach TM?

Forty-four years ago, when I was 12 years old, I read a book about TM. It was written by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the Hindu guru associated with the Beatles.

Reading this book made me realize that most people have very little understanding of how the human mind functions, what its capabilities are and the dangers that exist. Years later, my understanding of TM was verified.

Around the time the movie "The Exorcist" was first released, I read the book "Hostage to the Devil! The Possession and Exorcism of Live Contemporary Americans" by Malachi Martin.

One of them was a college professor who was experimenting with TM. Philosophers, psychiatrists, psychologists, educators and people in the medical profession have claimed that TM is a good thing.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15: "No wonder, for ever Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore, it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds."
