Sports physicals
The Tamaqua Area School District is already planning for the next school year. Sports physicals for the 2015-16 have been scheduled to be held twice in July in the Tamaqua Middle School nurse's office.
Recommended times for physicals will be: July 7, 8-9:30 a.m. for grades 7 and 8 and 9:30-11:30 a.m. for grades 9 and 10; July 28, 8-9:30 a.m. for grades 11 and 12, and 9:30-11:30 a.m. will be the time for makeup physicals for those unable to attend the recommended time frames. These will be the only dates for physicals. Student-athletes unable to make either day will have to have a physical at their own expense.
The time frames are just a recommendation to avoid overcrowding and are not strictly enforced. Siblings in different grades may attend at the same time or students unable to attend at their recommended time may attend a different session.
