Tamaqua woman hurt in crash

Vanessa H. Stahler, 20, of Tamaqua, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:15 p.m. June 25 on Route 209, Valley Street, in New Philadelphia.

State police at the Frackville barracks said she was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South, Pottsville, for treatment.

Police said she was driving a 2006 Ford Focus westbound and rounding a left curve in the roadway when the vehicle went off the road and struck a tree on the north side of the road.

The woman was issued two traffic citations as a result of the crash.
