DUI patrol
The North Central Pennsylvania Regional DUI Enforcement Program has released the results of a DUI/Sobriety Checkpoint held on the Fourth of July in Schuylkill County.
The sobriety checkpoint was conducted by five officers from five departments, contacting and detaining 46 vehicles. Three operators were tested for driving under the influence, with two adults arrested for DUI. Officers also made 13 traffic and 2 criminal arrests and issued 32 warnings.
DUI enforcement efforts will continue to be conducted through July 13 on routes 61, 183, 901, 209, 1006, 309, 443, 895, 125, 25, 924 and 54.
The checkpoints and patrols are funded through the state Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
