Coaldale man charged in Tamaqua
A Coaldale man has been cited by Tamaqua Police after an incident at the Tamaqua Burger King on July 3.
Officers were dispatched to the fast food restaurant at 5:40 p.m. for a male who had possibly overdosed in the men's room. They found Matthew Komishock, 30, of Fifth Street, Coaldale, slumped over on the toilet. He was breathing, but unresponsive. On the toilet paper dispenser next to him were a hypodermic needle cap, a cotton ball and a vial of liquid. A syringe was found on the floor next to the toilet.
As officers placed Komishock on the floor, a cigarette pack fell to the floor. The pack contained a purple bag with a brown powdery substance.
EMS personnel transported Komishock to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus for treatment.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.
