Driver facing DUI
A Northampton County driver is facing two counts of driving under the influence following an incident in Mahoning Township.
Township police said Kelly Washburn, 45 of Walnutport, has also been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended-DUI related, all misdemeanors; and summary charges of two counts of turning movements and required signals.
On March 15 at 8:30 p.m., Washburn was observed failing to use his signal for a U-turn, and a left-hand turn. On contact he was found under a DUI suspension, and there was an active warrant for his arrest. A blood test showed the presence of Delta-9 THC, and Delta-9 Carboxy THC in his system.
