Albert G. Snyder, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating his 90th birthday.

Born in Freeland on July 16, 1925, he is the son of the late Albert C. and Irene (Goeppert) Snyder. He has a brother, Donald E. Snyder of Weatherly, and a sister, Carol M. Cipperley of San Jose, California.

Albert graduated from the Mining Mechanical Institute in 1943. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1943-1946. He was a proud member of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe.

After his service in the military, Albert attended Penn State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in the curriculum of science. After graduating from Penn State he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company as a combustion engineer. He also worked at Dupont Corporation as an engineer in the Explosives Department.

Albert enjoyed lending a hand on his aunt's farm in Benton, where he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
