Three facing theft counts in Rush

Rush Township police have cited several people in connection with shoplifting incidents at the HT Commons Walmart in Hometown.

Sonya Stefanik, 43, of Mahanoy City, is facing charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy after stealing merchandise valued at $234.84 at 7:32 p.m. on June 25.

Marissa Garcia, 22, of Mahanoy City faces a charge of criminal conspiracy in connection with the theft.

Jason Schmidt, 38, of West Hazleton will be charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after taking air conditioners from the retail store on July 16 and 17. The units were valued at $949.76.
