Woman is injured in Monroe assault

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a case of terroristic threats against a 23-year-old Stroudsburg woman.

Police said they are looking for Cody Heller of Stroudsburg, who reportedly assaulted his girlfriend between 4-6 a.m. Wednesday in the bedroom of his home on Twin Lake Road in Jackson Township.

Police said the couple became involved in a verbal dispute and the victim attempted to exit the residence, at which time Heller grabbed her by the hair and upper thigh while throwing her onto their bed. Police said Heller placed both hands on the victim while choking her on the bed, and reportedly stated to her "I will kill you" during the altercation.

Police said the victim was able to flee the scene and drove herself to the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
