Busy needles
The Salem-St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, needle group is on vacation until October.
Leader Sue Potts said the group has been in operation about four years. In that time, the members have made raggedy quilts and donated them to Family Promise in Monroe County.
This year, she says they also made and gave them 50 stuffed animals for children.
One year members did walker bags, probably a hundred or so, and gave them to local nursing facilities.
The small group's biggest endeavor has been breast cancer bags that are worn on the shoulder like a pocketbook, and protect the sore area from arm chafing. She estimates they have done over 400 of those.
Many have been given to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, some to Pocono Medical Center and some to a cancer clinic in Carbon County.

The begin-again date will be announced in the fall.
