Car ride leads to citations

A car ride was the apparent reason for a feud that resulted in a citations for a Tamaqua woman.

Last Saturday a 42-year-old woman Tamaqua woman told Tamaqua police she had been assaulted by Jeanette A. Major, 52, of 11 Greenwood St. She said Major came to her apartment on June 5, banging on the window and door.

When she opened the door to see what was happening, Major slapped her across the face, placed her in a headlock, then punched her in the face. The reason for the assault, according to the victim, was a car ride she accepted from her assailant's boyfriend.

Major was cited for harassment.
