Man cited after domestic dispute

Published June 12. 2015 04:00PM

A Tamaqua man was cited following a domestic incident on Monday.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to 83 Hunter St. at 7:30 p.m. for a reported domestic assault in progress. The officer spoke with two people in the home, the victim and her son.

Both said Greg Scott Ward, 54, and the victim had been arguing, when Ward suddenly began punching her in the chest and telling her to get out.

When she tried to do as he demanded, Ward shoved her out the door and she fell, injuring her knee. He then dragged her back into the apartment, where he shoved her against a wall, causing her to strike her head.

Despite a bloody knee and complaining of pain in her chest and head, the woman refused medical treatment.

Ward was cited for simple assault and harassment.
