Several cited for violating ordinance
Several people have been cited for violating the Quality of Life Ordinances in Tamaqua in the last few weeks. Many of the citations were the first of the season for high weeds and several property owners received multiple citations.
Joseph Chamoun, 308 E. Elm St., was cited for having accumulated garbage, having trash containers out more than 24 hours before or after pickup, and high weeds. He also was cited for having inside furniture outdoors at a property at 212 Center St. All of the citations were for first offenses.
Jesus Saintmaria, 313 Penn St., received two citations for high weeds and one for accumulated garbage two first and one a second offense.
Althea Bachert, 308 Penn St., was cited twice for having high weeds.
David Kranch, 219 Lombard St., received two citations each for high weeds and for motor vehicles.
Brandon Eberts, 162 Spruce St., was cited twice for high weeds.
Kerry Hamm, 160 Spruce St., was cited twice for high weeds.
Robert Blihar, 332 Lafayette St., was cited for having high weeds and violating the 24-hour time frame for garbage containers both first offenses.
Sandra Collins, 156 Spruce St., received two citations for high weeds.
Paul Eggerling, 158 Spruce St., received two citations for high weeds.
Todd Snyder, 303 Lafayette St., was issued two citations each for high weeds and accumulated rubbish.
Christopher Schultz, 214 Center St., received a first-time citation for having indoor furniture outside.
John Wassel, 132 Orwigsburg St., was a first-time offender of the high weed ordinance.
Michael Kemmerer, 100 Pitt St., was cited for violating the 24-hour time period for trash containers.
Real Property Management received a first citation for high weeds for a property at 104 Pitt St.
Sherry Benjamin, of 506 E. Union St., and Charlotte Whitley, of 4 Rose St., each received a first-time citation for high weeds.
Richard Kantor, 419 W. Rowe St., received a citation for having accumulated trash. It was a first offense.
Violators have 24 hours to correct the problem and 15 days to pay the fine. Any fine not paid within 15 days is subject to penalties.
The fine for a first-time offense is $25, while the fine for a second offense is $50.
