Man found in home; jailed

Published June 22. 2015 04:01PM

A Schuylkill County man was awakened early Sunday morning by noises, then found a man lying on the floor of his kitchen.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 6 a.m. at 185 Florida Ave., in Shenandoah Heights, West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said homeowner Michael Hall heard noises and went to the kitchen where he found Stephen Lawrence Usalis, 22, of Shenandoah, on the floor screaming. Hall repeatedly told Usalis to leave but he remained inside.

Troopers responded and took custody of Usalis. He was arraigned by on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, on a charge of criminal trespass. He failed to post $5,000 straight cash bail and was incarcerated in the county prison in Pottsville.

Assisting troopers were police from Shenandoah, Frackville and Mahanoy City.
