Man charged with assault, harassment
Coaldale Police charged Brian Anthony Whildin, 38, of 225 East Street, Coaldale, after a domestic incident on June 7.
Police were dispatched to the area of the Whildin home for a possible domestic dispute early that afternoon. The officer spoke with Whildin, who said he had an argument with his wife, but that she had left the area, driving off in her Jeep Grand Cherokee.
At 2:08 p.m., the officer received a call concerning the incident from the father of the victim. He and his daughter then went to the police station to make written statements.
The victim said she went to the home shortly after 1 p.m. to pack up some of her belongings. Whildin then began arguing with her. When she got in her Jeep to leave, he threw a plastic tote through the car window, then leaned in the window to hit and scratch her face. He then broke the turn signal lever from the steering column and ran back into the house.
Police have charged Whildin with simple assault and harassment.
