Monroe break-ins

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating three burglaries that occurred in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said at 11:15 a.m. June 17 they were dispatched to the area 1000 Sugar Hollow Road, for a reported break-in of a summer home. The victim, Marcus Glyptis, 78, of New York, found his home had been entered and ransacked. Two chainsaws were stolen and multiple appliances and household items were vandalized.

A second burglary was reported in the area of 3200 Hillcrest Drive in Saylorsburg by the owner. Entry was gained through an unsecured window. After failing to gain entry to a gun safe, the criminals fled the scene. Nothing was taken. The incident occurred sometime between 2:30 and 6 p.m. on Monday.

Another burglary was reported in the area of 100 Longwoods Drive. Troopers responded to the home about 6:05 p.m. Monday when the victim, a 48-year-old female, found the home had been entered.

Numerous jewelry items and a Glock 42, .380-caliber handgun was taken. The victim said the entry occurred sometime Monday between 7:50 a.m. and 5:55 p.m.
