Tamaqua man facing charges

Tamaqua police have cited a borough man after an incident on June 23 involving a washer and a dryer.

Police were called at 4:57 p.m. by a property owner on N. Nescopec Street. The man reported that Phillip Michael Ryan IV, 26, of 402 Hazle St. had entered the secured back yard without permission.

The two men argued, then Ryan removed a dryer, valued at $80, from the yard. He also attempted to take a washer, but left it there after damaging it. Ryan drove away in a black, four-door pickup.

He was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and driving with a suspended license-DUI related.
