My opinion of bullying
Dear Editor,
Bullying didn't develop overnight, nor does it pertain exclusively to kids in school and in cyberspace over the Internet; the problems associated with it are on a much deeper level.
The fact is that our moral character has been lost. It slowly but steadily disappeared throughout the decades in America, and aggressive behavior has become the debris that society is left to deal with.
Our country has become the bully of the world, and our government has given God's laws the boot and thrown them out of our lives through legislation to make us "free" of moral responsibility.
We all now have the right to think and believe as we please, but it's not a healthy situation. This new form of enlightenment produces disastrous actions that ripple throughout our society.
Moral behavior once defined our parents' and grandparents' characters. They're remembered for their self-discipline, responsibilities at home and work, friendships, good work ethics, and courage in wartime, perseverance, honesty, loyalty, a strong faith in God and especially compassion.
Compassion is a God-given part of our human nature that's infused in our soul that goes beyond the love of self (an abundant trait in this generation). Compassion takes a stand with others in their distress.
It's a virtue that takes seriously the existence of other people's inner lives as well as external circumstances and of our own soul toward fellowship and sharing; it's a supportive shoulder in times of trouble.
People of previous generations were governed by these dispositions, but now something dark and unnatural is filling the void.
Dishonesty, irresponsibility, laziness, fear and disobedience are now the major characteristics that mark our society.
Injustice and corruption are everywhere. Honesty has been lost, and now our immoral society has given birth to bullying.
Our government bullies us by pushing unwanted legislation down our throats, as well as law enforcement that makes us victims of these laws. Public education also acts as an agent to further desensitize our kids with a core curriculum steeped in liberalism that keeps our children's moral sensibilities chained in a cell of political correctness and destroys whatever morals they have.
A spirit of brutality has taken over as ruffians are loose in our neighborhoods; a younger generation of morally bankrupt individuals who have been birthed to react to the realities surrounding them in every direction and of moral bankruptcy. It's too late to raise up another standard. We who still live by moral standards are the minority, and we're left out in the cold. Some may choose to wait for the government to come up with new regulations for moral change, but our government isn't the best in the business of regulating money; just the opposite.
As a whole, we, the American people must repent before God, pray and fight back the moral darkness that has taken over our society to become a God-fearing and Bible-believing people again. Time has run out for us, and we're on the eve of destruction. For the people of our country there's not going back; only forward in lock-step, being bullied every step of the way. A police state is on the horizon, and they're the super bullies who have no moral obligation to us.
