Finally, an end to the neverending winter

Published March 17. 2015 04:00PM

Old Man Winter is finally starting to loosen his grip on the area. It seemed like the neverending winter! Maybe it's my age, but I'm really looking forward to some warmer weather.

Still it makes you appreciate the change of seasons, one of the reasons I like this area so much. With the lower temps, Old Man Winter has provided us with some spectacular winter scenes. One of my favorite is the ice formation at the bridge in Jim Thorpe. The cold snap has thickened the ice and despite some ill-fated attempts by the Ice Bozos, it has the blue and green hues that really make it look neat.

The weatherman is calling for a good warmup and the ice will be melting and falling as spring takes hold. Thank God! Some of the Ice Bozos I know personally, and my reply to them is NA-NA-NA-NA!!!

That was how the letter ended on Friday afternoon on March 6. In my travels on the 7th, I had to go to Lehighton. As I approached the light I could not help but notice. It looks like a peacock lost his plumage, all over the ice. Touche! The Ice Bozos win again thank God it's gonna melt!
