Lehighton couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Roger E. Tyson of Lehighton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 1, 1965, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley, by the Rev. George E. Hein.

Mrs. Tyson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James J. Fink of Mahoning Valley, retired in 2004 after working over 41 years in the banking industry for various local banks.

Mr. Tyson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl H. Tyson of Andreas, retired from Blue Ridge Pressure Castings in 2008, after 43 years of service.

The Tysons are the parents of one son, Steven. They have two grandchildren, Tia Lynn and Toby Steven.

They are active members of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley, and love to travel in their spare time.

They also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
