Vehicle stop leads to drug charges
A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to drug charges against a Columbia County resident.
State police at Fern Ridge said the stop was made at 5:15 p.m. on April 20 in the parking lot of the Wawa store located near the Interstate 80 off-ramp to Route 115, in Blakeslee, Tunkhannock Township.
A consent search of the vehicle resulted in six waxine baggies containing heroin and one suboxone tablet in an orange pill bottle being found in the purse of Angie Atkinson, of Berwick.
She was arrested and transported to the barracks were she was processed and later released. Drug charges were filed.
