Shoplifter nabbed in Monroe County

State police at Fern Ridge reported the arrests of a Monroe County man for shoplifting.

Troopers said Michael Allan Peters, 59, of Sciota was cited for retail theft following an incident at Kingsley's ShopRite, located at 107 Kingsley Drive, in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said Peters was detained by employees of the store at 10:10 a.m. on Friday. While in custody Peters confessed to also taking miscellaneous groceries, valued at $40, on Feb. 17 at the store.

Nontraffic citations were issued for both incidents, troopers said.
