Speed stop leads to DUI charge
A stop of an Illinois driver for speeding along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, has led to the driver being charged with driving under the influence.
State police at Fern Ridge said they stopped Dennis Lashawn Walker, 40, of Chicago, at 1:47 p.m. on April 4 for traveling at a high rate of speed.
He was placed in custody for suspicion of DUI of a controlled substance-marijuana. He submitted to a blood test which revealed the presence of a controlled substance, troopers said. Charges were filed.
