Monroe man facing charges
A Monroe County man is facing charges following an incident in April.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Jamey Dumeus, 22, of East Stroudsburg, was working for a cleaning service on April 9, and was cleaning inside a residence in Greenwood Acres in Blakeslee. The resident of the home discovered that Dumeus had removed a check from her 16-year-old daughter's checkbook. Dumeus then forged the girl's name on a check and cashed it for $100.
An arrest warrant was then issued for his arrest. On Monday state police at Swiftwater stopped Dumeus for a traffic violation. Troopers learned of the outstanding warrant for his arrest and took him into custody and placed him in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment on charges of theft by deception, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking filed by Pocono police.
