Vote for O'Gurek

Dear Editor,

There's no question in my mind that Commissioner Bill O'Gurek is the only choice for Carbon County commissioner on May 19. He is intelligent and articulate and brings to the board a wealth of knowledge that county residents can rely on.

His experience is evident; the others commissioners also rely heavily on what Bill brings to the table.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Bill and all of the O'Gurek family since I was a boy. In fact, Bill was my Little League baseball coach and later became the president of the Summit Hill Little League and coached Babe Ruth Baseball. His lifetime of community service speaks for itself.

He was the mayor of Summit Hill and the county prothonotary, so he knows about municipal government and the court operations. Besides his baseball involvement, Bill has been involved in church, school and civic matters throughout the Panther Valley.

He has helped families by spearheading fundraisers for sick individuals; volunteered as a referee at my alma mater, Panther Valley High School; worked as a booster for Our Lady of the Angels and Marian High schools; is the annual master of ceremonies for the Carbon County Hall of Fame banquet; and even took a leading role in Special Olympics.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. To me, and our family, there is no better choice for Carbon County commissioner than Bill O'Gurek and so I ask the county voters to join me in voting for him on May 19.
