Fight at bus stop results in four arrests
Four people were cited as a result of a fight at a McAdoo school bus stop on April 29.
Police were dispatched to the area of Hancock and Sherman Street for a fight involving numerous people. At the scene, officers separated the participants and spoke with a mother of two juveniles who were involved.
She said her younger son had an issue with other students on the bus the previous day. He told his older brother about the incident and she was at the stop trying to keep things from getting out of hand.
However, when the bus stopped and the students exited, her son went up to one of the students and slapped the back of his head.
At that point, an adult, Thomas Mumaw of McAdoo, decided to become involved and challenged her son to a fight. The son refused to strike a disabled person and began to walk away.
Then, another juvenile came up to her son and the two started fighting in the streets. That's when another adult, John Hickey of McAdoo jumped in to the fray.
Mumaw, Hickey and the two juveniles were all cited for disorderly conduct.
