Results of checkpoint
State police at Lehighton released the results of roving sobriety checkpoint patrols conducted Friday into Saturday, May 22-23, along various roads in Carbon and Monroe counties.
The patrols resulted in six motorists being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
Also, four motorists were arrested but released after passing field sobriety tests, 28 citations were issued, three motorists were arrested for being in possession of controlled substances, and 27 traffic warnings were issued.
The goal of the checkpoints is to remove impaired drivers from the highways and roadways of the commonwealth.
