We need officials who listen to us

Dear Editor,

Last year I contacted the commissioners' office concerning the Covered Bridge in Lower Towamensing Township. I was asked for my name and number, they would call back. Never did. Called again, same routine. Never called back.

As everyone knows, the Covered Bridge has been a target for oversized vehicles. The commissioners had the bridge fixed. The type of wooden beams that didn't stop the vehicles before were again used for the repair.

In less than a month after the bridge was opened, both beams were again smashed. So much for protecting the costly investment.

Anytime I had a question concerning township issues, Brent Green was available or returned my calls.

There is no ulterior motive for writing this letter. We need elected officials who believe talking to the people who put them in office is important.
