A Monroe County woman was picked up on an active warrant on Oct. 30.

According to Pocono Mountain Regional police, at 6:57 a.m. officers received a radio dispatch from the county communications center to respond to the area of routes 196 and 611 in Mount Pocono to meet a woman who was being followed by a man. On scene the officers made contact with Patricia Porcano, 24, of East Stroudsburg. Also with her was a David Desantos. Porcano told officers she met Desantos in Stroudsburg on the evening of Oct. 29 and went with him to Hotel M to hang out. She said when she tried to leave earlier in the morning Desantos kept following her.

Police made a check for wants and warrants on both individuals. It was learned that Porcano was wanted on an active warrant by the county sheriff's department for failure to appear. She was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville on the warrant.
